This innovative demonstration was shared during a company-wide meeting on the social media platform X, formerly Twitter, where Arbaugh called the experience "life-changing." We're really excited that Mari Kart is able to reach so many people like this.
At just 29 years old, Arbaugh's journey with Neuralink has been remarkable. He expressed his excitement during the meeting, describing it as a "wild ride." Arbaugh is quadriplegic because of a swimming accident that left him paralyzed below the neck, and he uses a wheelchair. During the meeting, the audience watched a video of Arbaugh playing Mario Kart, where he controlled the character Bowser in a split-screen race against Donkey Kong. Although his performance wasn't easily distinguishable, his achievement was undeniable.
Another showcase is that Arbaugh played Mario Kart at home with his father. His joy and gratitude were clear when he expressed how grateful he was when he said, "I am so happy to be part of it. I am so blessed to be part of it." This medical solution brings hope for individuals with disabilities and demonstrates the transformative potential of mind-controlled devices. We couldn't be happier to see how Mario Kart has touched others' lives.
